Nokia has launched its latest smartphone Lumia 925 at an event in London today. In terms of the technical specs it appears a lot like the Lumia 920 and the Lumia 928.

However the biggest changes made by Nokia in this smartphone is in terms of size and design of the device. The Lumia 925 is only 8.5mm thick and weighs a decent 139 grams. Although the Lumia 920 was much heavier at 185 grams and thicker at 10.7mm in its comparison.

Another big change made in the body finish of this smartphone comes in the form of an aluminum frame running around the outer body frame and polycarbonate back body as well.

So far as the question of other features offered in the phone is concerned not much has change is seen here. It has a 4.5-inch screen with AMOLED display with 1280×768 pixels resolution. Lumia 925 has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor that comes with 1GB RAM, and 16GB storage space.

The camera in Lumia 925 is 8.7 MP with Image Optical Stabilisation functionality and Carl Ziess optics and LED flash. The front camera for voice calling is a decent 1.2 megapixels which also is capable of wireless charging.

In the connectivity section the Nokia Lumia 925 offers 4G, supports Bluetooth 3.0, NFC, USB 2.0 and WiFi.

It has also installed a new Smart Camera mode in Lumia 925 which offers many more photo editing options for those who love photography.

The Smart Camera mode offers features like:

Best Shot: Let’s the users to choose the best image from 10 pictures.

Action Shot: Users can add multiple frames to an image to add motion to their photo making the action come alive.

Motion focus: The option allows users to change the various degrees of motion blur in the background here from low to high.

Change Faces: This option provides the freehand to choose difference faces from different frames.

The remove objects option: This option allows the users to get rid of photo bombers.

Lumia 925 will only be available in grey and black metallic colors as against the other Lumia range of smartphones. However if you prefer a colourful body then you will have to purchase an additional sleeve that is attached to the rear of this device (like the Lumia 720). It’ll be available in red, yellow, black, and white color.

 

The Nokia Lumia 925 is expected to be available in stores from 1st June in UK, Germany, Italy and Spain with Vodafone and other operator and retail partners and in China however the Lumia 925 is going to be available with China Mobile and China Unicom subsequently it is going to be launched in US with T-Mobile. The Lumia 925 will be priced at roughly 469 EUR before any local taxes or operator subsidies. There is however no information on how much is it going to be priced India and when is it going to be launched.
