Yahoo! Declared US elections, iPhone 5 and Kim Kardashian as top searches of the year


According to Yahoo, US elections became the most-searched item
with Kim Kardashian being the most searched person in a year. The
term ‘election’ and ‘political polls’ was no. 1st and 8th of Yahoo! Top
ten.

iPhone 5 was at the 2nd position in this list. Since 2007, when iPhone
1st generation was launched Apple Inc’s iPhone has featured
regularly in the top searches of Yahoo. But it’s for the first time that a
specific model had appear high on the list.

Kim Kardashian, a reality star, was the most-searched person on the
website. Coming in at No. 3, she’s the leading one amongst six other
popular women in the top 10 list.

Yahoo’s web trend analyst Vera Chan noted about Kardashian’s
featuring in the list saying “notoriety has kept her at the top,” citing
her ongoing divorce proceedings with ex-husband Kris Humphries
and her high-profile relationship with rapper Kanye West.
