Online legal publisher Justia and Cornell University takes over Oyez’s U.S. Supreme Court audio recordings database

Online legal publisher Justia and Cornell University’s nonprofit site Legal Information Institute joined forces to take over Oyez website’s database of over 8000 hours of U.S. Supreme Court audio recordings. The deal took place due to Oyez’s unclear future in the wake of it’s founder Jerry Goldman’s retirement date approaching.

Jerry Goldman, who is a professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law started the Oyez project in 1993 with annual operating costs of $5,00,000.
