About the revolution it’s been said that it consumes its own children. It has been nearly two and a half years since the onset of Arab Spring when people across Arab nations came together with the basic resolve to improve the economic situation and civil liberties leading to the downfall of some Arab leaders and the revolt against others. But the whole movement has later taken a turn for the worse into a civil war between ethnic groups and religions spreading from Libya to Iraq.
The recent events in Egypt but not limited to it are a sad reminder of the grim situation. Considering the ongoing violence in Syria and the fear of further intensification of protests in Cairo, some Arab pundits are now attributing the trend as a suicidal tendency of the Arab nations.
As a result of these events, Israel’s IDF is going to temporarily enjoy strategic breathing room with Egyptian army more drawn towards their internal struggle. Also with Egyptian army depending heavily on US Aid to carry out its operations, chances of Egypt going offensive with Israel are limited in the near future.
