Imax and Paramount Pictures have strengthened business ties by entering into a pact to release five of the Hollywood studio’s upcoming films. The said movies are going to be including Michael Bay’s Transformers 4 in June 2014 and a co-production of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar in November of the same year.
Another three Paramount Pictures which forms part of the agreement are yet to be announced.
The extended deal took place after Imax successfully released Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
In The Dark Knight and Bay’s forthcoming Transformers 4, Imax’s proprietary cameras are going to be used to make film for the large-format exhibitor’s screens.
“Imax is among the greatest ways to experience a movie,” Rob Moore, vice chairman of Paramount Pictures, said in a statement Monday.
“Working with today’s top filmmakers, we look forward to bringing audiences the most exciting new movies with the very best presentation for years to come,” he said.
