Four Japanese auto manufacturers which include Toyota and Nissan have recalled 3.4 million vehicles from around the world. The recall is because of Takata Corp supplied airbags as they pose the risk of catching fire or injuring passengers.
The decision was announced on Thursday and is known to be the largest recall ever by auto manufacturers for Takata airbags. Takata is the second largest supplier of airbags and seatbelts in the world. Shares of Takata fell by almost 10 percent in Tokyo trading after the news broke out.
