It development cost for the Roadrunner supercomputer stood at $121 million. Right now, Roadrunner is housed at one of the nation’s leading nuclear weapons research laboratory in New Mexico and will be decommissioned on Sunday.

As we know that the world of supercomputing is evolving and Roadrunner has been replaced with something smaller, faster, energy efficient and cheaper. However, it still hasn’t lost its sheen as officials at the Los Alamos National Laboratory revealed that it’s among the 25 fastest supercomputers in the world.
