The new UCLA basketball coach from New Mexico, Steve Alford is in the highlight from the very start. He is under the pressure of guiding the team to the Sweet 16 or better.

Alford is said to have rock-star image with a great resume.

He was never this popular from the beginning of his career. However his popularity reached the top in the past decade as he led exactly 16 teams to the Sweet 16 honor.

Alford takes pride in the fact that he is part of coaching teams for playing Ivy League-smart basketball. Everything was going smooth for the coach until a couple of weeks ago but things took an ugly turn when his team was knocked out of the NCAA tournament in the first round by Harvard.
