Pope Francis has extended a hand of friendship to “so many Muslim brothers and sisters” during a Good Friday procession. This Good Friday procession is dedicated to the suffering of Christians from terrorism and extremism in the Middle East.

By taking this decision, the new pontiff has gone beyond the traditionalists and rejected many conventions. The Pope by far stuck to the traditional script during the nighttimes Way of the Cross procession at Rome’s Colosseum. A ritual counted amongst the most spectacular rituals of Holy Week.

As torches lit the way, the faithful followers carried a cross to different stations. It was at these various stations where meditations and prayers were carried out remembering the last hours of Jesus’ life and his crucifixion.

  1. The hand of friendship is always held out, but with the growth of extremism, which refuses to accept any deviation from its own narrow view theMuslim chances of peace are remote. The sufferers are targetted by vicious people, who will not compromise, even with fellow Muslims. I think that only God can make a change of heart. Pray for enlightenment as if your life depended on it. Someone’s life does.
