Possibility of Microsoft’s release of Office suite for Linux shared during FOSDEM open source conference in Brussels


The days for Linux are set to return once again after Microsoft is considering MS-Office release for the Linux by 2014. Yeah, some may find this hard to believe but rumor mills are speculating after a source of Phoronix website indicated towards the possibility during FOSDEM (Amongst the biggest Open Source Conferences in Europe) in Brussels.

The biggest reasons suggesting a change of heart for Microsoft are the recent developments in which Linux appeared “commercially viable” to Microsoft and also Microsoft has initiated the development process of Office suite for Android OS.

 

The development is also critical as history has it the Microsoft has never developed any software for Linux but always continued to make its existing softwares compatible with Linux through its Hyper-V (virtualization) process.
