A rock band consisting of girls from the troubled region of Kashmir, India is facing a tough time after their first performance itself. The band has started receiving death threats on the social media sites after this performance that took place in capital city, Srinagar on 22nd December. As a result of which their parents have told them not to think of music anymore.
The girls rock band is named “Pragaash” that means “from darkness to light” in Kashmiri. The performers of Pragaash comprises of Farah Deeba (Drummer), Aneeka Khalid (Bass Guitarist), Noma Nazir (Vocalist and Guitarist). One of their friends told The Kashmir Walla, that they were given death threats for performing in public and making a music band. This friend also told that their parents have asked them not to speak to anyone and to also stop playing music.
On being approached by a local reporter regarding the incident, they refused to comment and told that the group is not playing anymore.
