Ami Bera and Tulsi Gabbard make their mark in history after getting elected in US House


Ami Bera, Indian American Physicist from Caifornia became the third Indian ever to be selected into US House of Representatives after Dilip Singh Saundh 1950 and Bobby Jindal 2005. House Speaker John Boehner selected Bera as House of Representatives.

In an interview given to PTI, Ami Bera said, “My father migrated in 1950s from Gujarat and this is a culmination of American dream for him. He worked hard to see his son to be sworn in today in the House of Representatives. It’s really the culmination of everything,”

Tulsi Gabbard is another member of US Congress who created history by becoming the youngest member to have joined the US House. Gabbard hails from the state of Hawaii and has also held the position of Hawaii state representative in Honolulu state council. She takes the Hindu Holy Book “Gita” as her guide and Mahatma Gandhi as her idol.
