Public protests against Gang-rape in India

Gang-rape of 23 year old girl this week in India resulted in mass public outcry against Indian authorities in capital city Delhi. The girl boarded the bus with her male friend at 9 PM after which she was gang-raped, beaten cruelly and pushed out from moving bus on the road.


A rape takes place in India in every 22 minutes according to National Crime Records Bureau. Anjana Menon, executive editor at NDTV said of the incident, “The truth is, when most women report sexual harassment in India’s cities, towns and villages, they are typically met with a shrug.” She also said, “Many Indians believe that women invite trouble on themselves by being careless”
