World’s longest running comic series “Dandy” discontinues print edition, goes online

-Dandy, world’s longest running comics’ last print edition has goes on sale. Dandy’s iconic characters Desperate Dan and Korky the Kat have completed a journey of 75 years in entertaining its readers. Where Dandy had a circulation of two million copies in the 1950s, it had hit the bottom with its circulation to just 8000 copies in the recent past.


-Now the publisher of Dandy, DC Thompson has decided to take the comics online and is going to make it available to readers through Tablet and Smartphone App. The last print edition rollout also coincides with its anniversary date 4th December, 1937 with reprint of the first edition as its last edition also.

Dandy’s website will feature animated characters alongwith voice overs and sound effects. Also there will be the option of interactive games, videos and opportunity to care for virtual pet, Dandy Dollop.
