What’s common between Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor?

-There’s no need to introduce a Bollywood films buff to Shah Rukh Khan and Dilip Kumar. The fact that most people do not know that three of the biggest names in Bollywood i.e Shah Rukh Khan, Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor has their ancestral homes within the 200m radius in Pakistani city of Peshawar (Dakki).

-Other than these three big-wigs, Madhubala, Vinod Khanna and Prem Nath, Surinder Kapoor (father of Slumdog Millionaire actor Anil Kapoor) also hailed from Peshawar. Shah Rukh Khan even visited his paternal home in 1978 and 1979 and his first cousin from Peshawar had visited him twice in 2010.

-The reason why some of these actors left Peshawar was that their family businesses were situated in India whereas for others the reason was that their family members were part of freedom struggle that was against partition and have so desisted from going to Pakistan.

Today there’s no need to introduce Bollywood films on the global scale, with India going fast on the economic development trajectory its creative pursuits like feature films are also getting viewer’s attention globally.
