Natural catastrophes come and take everything away from mankind. One small story from the recently concluded Hurricane Sandy was read by me also and I couldn’t contain myself from sharing this with my readers. The story is about Lucas (Read: Pet Dog) who is left alone stranded after his owner died in the Hurricane Sandy storm. Lucas today is suffering alone in the same animal shelter from where his owner adopted him when he was a little puppy, 8 months old. It’s quite ironic how Lucas returned back to the same shelter after losing his owner from where he was once adopted.
The unease that Lucas is facing while retained in the cage by shelter runners is evident from the dry nose that Lucas keeps licking out of his timid behavior. Another sign of his dissatisfaction at having restrained in the cage could be judged by the hair loss that is happening due to excessive itching done by him.
Lucas is a collie-shepherd mix and may breathe his last if he does not gets picked from the animal shelter in Staten Islands, New York where he is being taken care of by the shelter people.
