Yash Chopra: The “real” king of Romance passes away

One of the most famous romantic directors of Bollywood of all time, Mr. Yash Chopra is no more. He was admitted to Lilavati hospital on 13th October due to dengue infection according to news airing on TV.

Contrary to what made Yash Chopra popular, he had also made action dramas that also did well on box office but only his work as a romantic director managed to leave a lasting impression on his audience.

Hospital authorities said, “He had been suffering from complications of dengue for a long time. He suffered from multi organ failure, because of which he died,”

He was planning on going to Swiss Alps to shoot the last song sequence for his forthcoming film “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” but he couldn’t leave because of falling sick with Dengue infection.

Yash Chopra was born on 27 September, 1932 in Lahore and in early of his career working as an assistant director to I.S. Johar and his elder brother B.R. Chopra.

In a career spanning over fifty years, list of his blockbuster films include Chandni, Silsila, Deewar, Trishul, Veer Zaara etc.

Yash Chopra is survived by his wife Pamela and two sons Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra.
